The Execution of Bennie Demps

Governor Bush,

We the undersigned petitoners request that you immediately afford Mr. Bennie Demps a stay of execution, due to the fact that he is innocent of the crime to which he is about to be executed for. Mr. Demps needs more time to investigate and present new evidence with the help of his attorney. It is imperative that at the very least you grant him a 30 day stay, if not full clemency. Mr. Demps is already serving 2 life sentences for previous convictions, that in itself is sufficient punishment. We urge to consider Mr. Demps's situation and grant the stay immediately! We are all watching, and trust that you will do the right and just thing. Thank you for your time, and in advance for taking care of this situation. Mr. Demps is due to be executed on May 31st, at 6:00 p.m. Please act now!!
